Unleash your steed.
Unleash your imagination.

The Santa Barbara Bicycle Coalition is offering $300 in prizes for “Bike Art” as part of our Bike Week of events May 17-25, 2008. Consider evoking your inner bicycle fantasy self to create a winning, rideable masterpiece. On this page are samples of what others have done, but don't feel constrained by them—create your own!

We’re delighted to be offering two prizes this year for Bike Art:

$200 prize for the best adult Bike Art entry.
$100 prize for the best youth
(age 5-17) Bike Art entry.

The only condition that we place on your fantasy is that it be rideable. Not long distances, but something you pedal to move.

Saturday May 17. At the start of our evening Bike Week Celebration event, artists are invited to display their creations. Voting for the winners will be by Celebration participants, one vote per person, taking place between 6:00 and 6:45 PM at the Chase Palm Park Center, at 236 East Cabrillo Boulevard in Santa Barbara.

Our Bicycle Coalition's Bike Art Project is something that we believe will continue to grow and mature in upcoming years. If you need an old bike or ideas or have questions, contact the Project coordinator Judy Keim at 687-2912 or at jkpedpad@aol.com.

Any individual or group can submit an entry. Please fill out the following form and click "Send." That way you'll be assured a place and will receive Bike Art Project updates and details as they're determined.
